Adolescent Therapy
Many adolescents come to therapy on their own, but others because they are told to from parents and schools. I strive to create a safe non-judgmental space. My goals are to help the adolescent reduce their pain and suffering and to find meaningful relationships with peers and family. I teach tools to help them tolerate the waves of emotion and spiraling negative thought patterns. I help them learn effective coping skills.
In addition, I provide consultation to parents to help them effectively support their teenager.
Adolescents coming to my practice want to work on a range of issues including:
- Anxiety
- School related anxiety
- Depression
- Trauma
- Peer group issues
- Self harming behaviors
- Parents Divorce
- Sleep issues
- Self esteem
